Global Action Week for Education for All is a worldwide annual campaign of the Global Campaign for Education, a coalition of NGOs and Teachers’ Unions, to raise awareness on the importance of Education for All and to mobilize political and financial support for the achievement of the Education for All goals.

Education of Career Orientation (ECO) activities are currently offered from grade 9 to grade 12, during 9 periods per school year, as provisioned in 7475/BGDĐT-GDTrH. Teachers have difficulty to implement these activities as they received no training on career guidance and have limited reference and resource materials to support them in these activities.

In 2012 a group of key players in the field of ICT in education in Vietnam from the public and private sector as well as development partners, participated in a panel study on "The Future of ICT in Education in Vietnam".

On the 1st December 2012, representatives from the DOETs, BOETs, Secondary Education Schools and WU of Quang Nam and Nghe An provinces met with VVOB for an introduction to the use and promotion of the online portal for Career Guidance for secondary school students: www.emchonnghegi.edu.vn.

Effectiveness and efficiency of career guidance education delivered in schools of general education depends to a large extent on school managers. The leaders play a very important role in steering and supporting the implementation of the career guidance vision.

On 2^nd and 3^rd of November 2012, VVOB Vietnam organized a ToT workshop for 24 members of provincial and district Women’s Unions of five provinces. The objective was to discuss how Women Unions can support career guidance for secondary education

On September 27th, 2012 the PAEX closing workshop was organized in Vung Tau city to assess the impacts of the programme on the extension network and hand over materials to the partners.

Strengthening the relationship among family, school and society is one of the key themes of VVOB programme. It is also a content of CFS movement launched by the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam since 2008.

In collaboration with international, national and local experts VVOB Vietnam developed a series of methodology modules, referred to as Active Teaching and Learning Package. These materials were used for training of trainers (TOT) and as training material in the multiplication trainings conducted by these trainers in 5 Teacher Training Institutes and practice schools.

From 18 to 22 September 2012, 25 participants from education sector and provincial women’s unions of 5 provinces had a chance to experience Malaysia’s education model. The purpose of the study tour was to learn and to exchange experiences regarding active teaching and learning in general, student’s performance assessment and community involvement in education in particular.

“I am curious about the Leaky Bucket tool” and “I am looking forward to exploring Intel education transformation policy development tool” were amongst participants’ feelings when they screened the workshop agenda.

Career guidance in secondary education in Vietnam follows two tracks: (1) Career Orientation (CO) provided through specifically dedicated periods and extra-curricular activities; and (2) vocational taster courses. These taster coursesr are provided 1. as part of the technology subject and 2.

In guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Training, teachers are requested to integrate environmental into different subjects. Nevertheless, many teachers find it difficult to select appropriate methods to integrate environmental education in an effective way.
