In 2012 VVOB Vietnam engaged a group of about 26 key players in the field of ICT in education in Vietnam in a panel study on the future of ICT in education in the country. In three online survey rounds, the panel members were asked to forecast how ICT would be used in 2020 and what would be the role of ICT in education by that time.

In 2010, one of the topics jointly developed by VVOB and DOETs is Innovation in Evaluation, emphasizing the evaluation of schools and evaluation of a lesson. In 2012 VVOB and DOETs followed up on this topic, focusing on innovations in evaluation of students’ performance, to provide school managers with a comprehensive view of evaluation.

In this report we share the findings of the second survey round on ICT in education in Vietnam. In June 2012, 26 respondents were asked to assess ten ICT in education dimensions, as well 97 targets and priorities that were identified in a first survey round on their importance in the context of education in Vietnam. The manual on ‘Assessment and Evaluation of Active Teaching and Learning (ATL)’ supports a two-day training on the same topic for teacher trainers. It is the final module developed as part of the ATL Teacher Training package.
The manual on ‘Facilitation and Coaching of Active Teaching and Learning (ATL)’ supports a two-day training on facilitation and peer-coaching techniques for teacher trainers.
A study has been carried out to assess to what extent the training package and programme on ICT for Active Teaching and Learning has been appreciated by trainees of the 5 TTIs, what has been the impact on the knowledge and skills of teacher trainers and whether the use of ICT for teaching has improved since 2008.
This manual gives an introduction to office applications and the internet to support training on basic ICT skills for educators.
