Career Guidance

In line with the policies of Vietnam and the needs in the Vocational sector and in consideration of the expertise, experiences, relationships etc. of the existing programme in Lower secondary education-LSE and teaching methodologies, the newly programme on Career Guidance for the period 2011-2013 is formulated in 2010 and put into operation in the last quarter of 2011. The programme is implemented in Nghe An and Quang Nam provinces.

The main objective of the Programme is to help the government to improve the quality of the career guidance to LSE and upper secondary education- USE students to make the education and training more needs-based.

Specific objective (2011-2013)

Deparments of Education and Training- DOET, schools and Mass Organisations- MO of 5 provinces have the capacity to jointly improve quality and relevance of  vocational education by improving the career guidance in the secondary education-SE.

Intermediate Results

  1. DOET supports improved career guidance for LSE and USE students
  2. SE schools deliver needs based vocational training courses
  3. MOs are creating awareness of value of vocational education in parents and students.
