Education & Training – Recently, the “Workshop on in-service trainings modalities for teachers and school managers” was held in Hanoi.
Participants of the workshop include representatives from MOET’s Departments, Institutes; representatives from organizations such as UNESCO, Microsoft, Topica Education group; representatives from key Universities of Education and Teacher Training Institutes, University of Technology, Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology, Banking Academy, and DOETs.
The workshop, a joint activity implemented by DTEA and VVOB Vietnam, is the first step in the cooperation plan between the two parties.
Next, the two parties will jointly carry out a research on efficiency and effectiveness of different in-service trainings modalities, aiming at improving the quality of continuous professional development.
With the key content focusing on in-service trainings modalities for teachers and school managers, participants spent a lot of time discussing two sub-topics: Traditional in-service trainings modalities and in-service trainings modalities applying aspects of e-learning.
Certain papers at the workshop were highly appreciated such as “Teachers’ self-learning, self-fostering in professional development” by Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Anh, teacher at Phan Huy Chu High School (Hanoi); “Developing self-learning & self-fostering habits for teachers and school managers in the Primary Teacher Development Project” by Ms Kieu Thi Bich Thuy, senior researcher, Research Center for Ethnic Minority Education (Vietnam Institute of Educational Sciences); and Orientations of in-service trainings for teachers and school managers in the future by Ms. Nguyen Thuy Hong – Deputy Director of DTEA (MOET).
After two hard working days, Ms. Nguyen Thuy Hong – Deputy Director of DTEA (MOET) summarized the workshop, giving an overview and brief analysis of in-service trainings modalities for teachers and school managers. She also addressed the issues of criteria for evaluating effectiveness of different in-service trainings modalities orientations for in-service trainings for teachers and school managers in the future.
