(Education & training) - In the guidelines for in-service training for 2013 - 2014, MOET instructed that more workshops, conferences and trainings should be organized online.

Recently, DTEA, in cooperation with VVOB Vietnam and the Center for teaching materials production (Hanoi National University of Education) has organized a try-out in e-learning in-service training for Primary school managers.

The topic of the training is Primary school managers with education of life values-life skills. Mr. Hoang Duc Minh - Director of DTEA, Dr. Wilfried – VVOB country programme Director, leaders and specialists from Secondary Education Department, Student Affairs Department, Department for Ethnic Minority Education, Continuing Education Department, and the Center for Teaching Materials Production (Hanoi National University of Education) attended the opening ceremony.

The training aims at providing primary school managers with knowledge, skills, and attitudes in life values and life skills, and how to manage this process in schools, thus step by step contributing to improving education quality in schools. With this content, the way of providing in-service training via the internet has been tried out with the objective to finalize the procedures for e-learning in-service training as instructed by MOET, contributing to improving the effectiveness of regular in-service trainings for teachers and educational managers.

Participants of this try-out training included over 30 educational managers from each of the four provinces - Hoa Binh, Yen Bai, Hai Duong and Thai Nguyên. Participants who pass the course will receive a certificate of completion. Taking part in the training course, apart from being advised and supported during the whole course (from October 14 to October 19), participants also have the opportunity to share ideas and get advice even after the training course.

This is the second try-out after the first try-out in Hands-on method organized by Secondary Education Department. In the future, this way of providing in-service training will continue to be perfected and deployed based on lessons learnt from the first try-out trainings, emphasizing more the role of ICT in in-service trainings for teachers and educational managers.
