XIV Annual International BCES Conference (14-17 June, Sofia, Bulgaria)
This year’s BCES conference focuses on “Education Provision to Every One: Comparing Perspectives from Around the World”. The thematic section on comparative education and history of education features the presentation of a paper co-authored by VVOB. The paper appraises the use of mobile libraries to resource rural primary schools in South Africa, paying particular attention to their effect on schools and learners.
2016 European Development Days (15-16 June, Brussels, Belgium)
During a lab debate on June 16, the European Education Practitioners Network and the UNESCO Teacher Task Force will share knowledge and best practices on how to achieve inclusivity in and through education interventions in line with SDG 4. VVOB discusses its experiences with community schools in Zambia; a national movement which began over two decades ago in response to a lack of access to public schools, generally in rural and vulnerable communities. The presentation will reference a project co-financed by the EU and Belgian government to support the Zambian government’s efforts in improving the quality of teaching and learning in these schools through teacher and school leadership development and the provision of resources for the same. 2016 OMEP World Conference (4-8 July, 2016, Seoul, Korea)
VVOB presents a paper on "Enhancing well-being and involvement among pre-schoolers in ethnic minority areas in Vietnam". The 2016 World Conference of the World Organisation for Early Childhood Education focuses on “Transforming Early Childhood Systems for Future Generations”. VVOB’s contribution to the discussions will highlight early childhood education workforce development. |
