End of April 2015, the Instituto de Altos Estudios Nacionales (IAEN), UNESCO and VVOB presented “Las oscilaciones de la calidad educativa en Ecuador, 1980-2010”. This book is an important and unique study on the experiences and lessons learnt on improving the quality of education in Ecuador over the last three decades.
“Las oscilaciones de la calidad educativa en Ecuador, 1980-2010” was released end of 2014 and was officially presented on the 22nd of April 2015. It is a joint publication of VVOB, UNESCO and IAEN. This book explores the notion of ‘Quality’ in education that was generated by and fluctuated between different political eras and programmes from 1980 till 2010 in Ecuador. It also gives a profound analysis of the current concept of quality in education; its challenges and contradictions within the national policy.
The book is an important and unique study on the experiences and lessons learnt in the last 30 years on improving the quality of education in Ecuador. The public policy makers in Ecuador - and South America - are its main target audience as it provides an important analytical tool. But it is also useful for researchers and lecturers of educational subjects. It motivates educational scientists in Ecuador to continue and step up research on this important topic.
