Multilingual education for transformative education systems and resilient futures
Ensuring the inclusion of all languages in learning recovery processes and education systems is vital for resilient and transformative futures in the Asia-Pacific region. The COVID-19 pandemic has worsened existing educational inequalities, particularly impacting learners who speak different languages. Multilingual education programmes have demonstrated success in enhancing learning outcomes, but there is resistance and pressure to prioritise international languages. The forthcoming International Conference on Language and Education aims to tackle these issues by fostering research, knowledge sharing, and collaborative efforts to transform education systems empowering learners for a resilient future.
